Dorothy Jean (Tressler) Beitzel, 88, of Oakland went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Dennett Road Manor. Born on April 1, 1932, in Accident, she was the daughter of the late Sherman Peter and Anna Laura (Opel) Tressler.
She had worked for Sterling Processing as a USDA Inspector, was the deli manager for Hometown Market and also worked in the cafeterias for the Garrett County Schools and was lovingly known as the "Cookie Lady". She was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her children, Susan Jean Beitzel Sines and husband Russell, Jenny Lynn Beitzel, and Timothy Allen Beitzel and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Jonathan Allen Sines, Melissa Jean Sines, Elizabeth Sue Sines, Joshua Paul Sines and wife Laura, Matthew Thomas Sines and wife Melissa, and Tiava Maria Beitzel; great grandchildren, Olivia Sines, Isabelle Sines, Perry Sines, Pearl Sines and Stephanie Hogg; two sisters, Leora Beitzel and Shirley Beitzel and husband Ken; a brother-in-law, Larry Beitzel and wife Pat; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Beitzel and Jean Tressler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Ferne Staggs, Parke Tressler, James Tressler, Ernest Paul Tressler and Charles Tressler.
A private family viewing was held at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, and private graveside service was held on Tuesday in the Glade Mennonite Cemetery with Pastor Carl Fike officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oak Park Church of the Brethren, 110 Church Lane, Oakland, MD 21550.
