Dorotha Beckman

Dorotha Bell "Dottie" (Riley) Beckman, 85, of Swanton, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at her home. Born on June 7, 1939, in Pleasant Valley (Oakland), she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Gloria Riley.

Dottie had been a floral designer for Jan Florist in Oakland. She was also a member of the New Life Christian Church. In addition to spending time with her family, Dottie enjoyed sewing, flower arranging, gardening and quilting.

She is survived by her husband, Bennie Joe Beckman, of 29 years; her sister, Norma "Kay" Schell of Savannah, Georgia; her children, Harry Beckman, Jr. and wife Susan, Beth (Beckman) Shank, Linda (Beckman) Armacost and husband Richard, Kevin Beckman and wife Tammy, Kimberly (Beckman) Sanders and husband Timothy, and Krystal (Beckman) Lewis and husband Mark; grandchildren, Zachary Forbes, Krystal (Forbes) Halbersham and husband Kenny, Robert Shank and wife Nicole, Jamie Shank and partner Mark, Scott Beckman and wife Sydney, Katie Beckman, Matt Beckman, Rodney Sanders, Kody Sanders and wife Heather, Morgan Cussins and husband Randy, Kameron Sanders, Emma Lewis, Wendi Beckman and companion Shawn, Jeremy Beckman and wife Andrea, Ashley Beckman, Kasey Sirk and husband Derek, Nicole Metz, and Harrison McBee; great grandchildren, Brynlee Forbes, Rylee Forbes, Aubrey Halbersham, Lukas Halbersham, Mercedes Halbersham, Leah Shank, Lincoln Shank, Anthony Fredrikis, Kylee Beckman, Adeline Beckman, Briggs Beckman, Reagan Auld, Landon Beckman, Carsyn Beckman, Brody Welch, Emmett Cussins, Peyton Sanders, Karson Sanders, Kyleigh Beckman, Landon Rodeheaver, Lyric Moats, Tessa Moats, Makala Groves, Bailey Sirk, Cayden Sirk, and Cadence Grace McBee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 5 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held in the New Life Christian Church on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11 AM with Pastor Roger Kitzmiller officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Swanton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Garrett County, New Life Christian Church, or Rose Hill Cemetery.
