Doris Swartzentruber

Doris Elia (Glover) Swartzentruber, 84, of Oakland passed away on October 4, 2016, at Dennett Road Manor, where she had been a resident for the past five and a half years. Born on December 2, 1931 in Dunbar, PA, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Lillian (Rossomme) Glover. She was a retired surgical nurse for Garrett County Memorial Hospital where she served for 32 years. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed camping, quilting, making crafts, reading and traveling across the country with her husband. She loved spending time with her family, especially her eight grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Dani Miller and husband Clayton and Diana Heilig and husband Rob, all of Oakland; two sons, Dennis Swartzentruber and wife Jeannette of Key West, FL and Dan Swartzentruber and wife Kathy of Oakland; grandchildren, Amanda, Jeremy, Sarah, Natalie, Delbert, Dennis, Nathan and Megan; six great grandchildren; one sister, Delores Dasco and husband John of Canton, OH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Delbert Donald Swartzentruber, after a wonderful life together; an infant son; and a brother, Robert Glover. Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, October 7th from 4 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, October 8th at 10 AM with Rev. Dr. C. Scott Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
