Donald Maxwell Hanlin, 83, of Mt. Storm, WV died on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland. Born on August 18, 1930 in Mt. Storm, he was the son of the late Walter Blaine and Velma Mae (Iman) Hanlin. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Piedmont American Legion and the former Abraham Lincoln VFW Post 6735. Having been a carpenter by trade, he enjoyed woodworking and building items to be enjoyed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Bonnie Lou (Cosner) Hanlin; two sons, James Hanlin and wife Ramona of Mt. Storm and Jeffrey Hanlin and wife Pennie of Bayard, WV; two daughters, Debora L. Harvey and husband Butch of Mt. Storm and Christine L. Seamone and husband Ken of Germantown, MD; eleven grandchildren, Brandon Harvey, Nickie Bonner, Cody Hanlin, Aleigha and Alanna Hanlin, Erika Graham, Will Anderson, Melissa Husa, Jaime Hanlin, Sean Seamone and Scott Seamone; and seventeen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Dylan Floyd Jacob Jones. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, July 2nd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, July 3rd at 12 Noon with Rev. Clifford Schell officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Mt. Storm Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Storm United Methodist Church, PO Box 320, Mt. Storm, WV 26739 or Cortland Acres Daybreak "B" Wing, 39 Cortland Acres Lane, Thomas, WV 26292.
