Don Parsons, Jr.

Don Roscoe Parsons, Jr., 68, of Frostburg, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Western Regional Medical Center while surrounded by his family.  Born on August 7, 1949 in Petersburg, WV, he is the son of the late Don R. and Arzella (Thorne) Parsons.  Don was a Southern High School graduate and attended Catherman Business School in Cumberland.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Don retired from his position as Vice President of Mortgage Lending after 40 years of service at First United Bank and Trust.  Don loved NASCAR and sports, especially golf and bowling.  Don is survived by his bride of 28 years, Cynthia (Hayden) Parsons; two sons, Don Parsons, III and wife Auzar of Ridgely and Mathew Parsons of Rockville; grandchildren, Declan, Colin and Olivia Parsons; cousins, Donald Thorn and wife Carolyn and Gary Thorn and wife Beverly; and his Myrtle Beach golfing buddies.  Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 4-7PM.  A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 318 E Oak St., Oakland on Wednesday, February 28 at 2PM with Rev.
