Dolores Truban

March 3, 1930 — May 22, 2012

Dolores Ann Truban, 82, a long- time resident of Oakland, died on May 22, 2012. She was born March 3, 1930 in Kempton, MD, the daughter of the late Roy & Ethel (Baer) Gibbs. She was also preceded in death by her husband Toby Truban and sister Pauline (Gibbs) Buckley both of Oakland.

Dolores was a dedicated home-maker and foster parent. Over the course of 9 years, she provided a loving home to 8 different foster children. She was an active member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren and participated in the Fairview Ladies Aide and Hearts Sisters organization.

She is survived by her brother James Gibbs of Oil City, PA, daughter, Dorinda (Truban) Koch of Sheboygan, WI, sons, Rod Truban of Niagara Falls, NY and Rob Truban of Severn, MD, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St, Oakland, MD, Friday, May 25, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Fairview Church of the Brethren, 110 1 Fairview Church Road, Oakland, MD with Rev. Sam Moon and Rev. Jason Buckley officiating.

Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oakland Nursing & Rehab Center, Activities Department, 706 East Alder St, Oakland, MD 21550.
