Diane Guy, 60, of Oakland, died on Monday, May 5, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on July 28, 1953 in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of Christine (McKee) Mellinger of Oakland and the late Calvin Mellinger. Diane was a graduate of Southern High School. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, caring for her houseplants, and playing computer games. Diane loved to make people smile and never knew a stranger. She is survived by her daughters, Nicole Kuchinski and husband Brian of Kingwood, WV, Mandi Lee-Guy of Friendsville; grandchildren, Alex Mellinger, Alanna Kuchinski, Gavin Kuchinski; and siblings, Connie Carpenter and husband Mark, Annie Stemple and husband Junior, and Kathy Tressler and husband Mike, all of Oakland. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, May 7th from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, May 8th at 11 AM with Pastor Barbara Rexroad officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
