Derek Bennett

Derek Scott Bennett, 26, of Oakland, died on Saturday, July 14, 2018, in Preston County, WV. Born on March 1, 1992, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Edward R. Bennett and Mary A. (Glotfelty) Brode. Derek enjoyed golfing, snowboarding, playing cornhole, spending time with friends, and working out. He is survived by two brothers, Darwin and Shawn Bennett, both of Oakland; his grandfather, Mike Rhodes; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his dog, Arlo. Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from 4 to 7 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Road, Oakland with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating.
