Delmer Delaney

Delmer Burl Delaney, 81, of Eglon, WV passed away September 14, 2014 at his home.

He was the son of the late Burl James Delaney, and Dorothy Coleen (Whitehair) Delaney.  He was preceded in death by 1 son, Donald Wade Delaney, 1 daughter, Cathy Lynn (Delaney) Brown, 4 brothers, Jackie, Terry, Glenn and Herbert Delaney and a sister, Lois Gamber.

He is survived by his wife Maidra A. Delaney, 3 sons, Delmer Wayne (Jessie) Delaney, Crellin, MD, Frank Allen (Mary Ann) Delaney, York, PA, Neil Clark (Rachel) Delaney, Augusta, GA, 1 daughter, Diana Louise (Frank) Gordon, Bayard, WV, 2 brothers, Harold and Robert Delaney, both of Eglon, WV, 2 sisters, Beatrice Delaney, Plona, MD, Carol Key Delaney, Baltimore, MD, daughter in-law, Rose Ann Delaney and son in-law Robert Brown, both of Baltimore, MD, 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Delaney was employed as a factory worker at GM before his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing, and was a life long musician.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home Tuesday September 16, 2014 from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be held at Hinkle Funeral Chapel September 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.  with the Rev.
