Della Jean Barello, 88, of Oakland, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at Garrett Memorial Hospital.
Della was born Sept. 14, 1923 in Sang Run, the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Della A. (Rodehaver) Savage.
Della worked for many years at Englander's and Gregg's Pharmacy. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Oakland and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip Ward and wife Alice of New Jersey and Larry Ward and wife Debbie of Westminster; two step-sons, Lee "Sonny" Ward of New Jersey and Jerry Barello and wife Dorothy of Oregon; 14 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Jane Lawton; and two brothers, Donald and Samuel Savage.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonso Barello Jr.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.
Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
