Debra Jean (Deem) Filsinger, age 64, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center from complications of COVID-19.
Born on December 2, 1956 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Carroll Wesley Deem, Sr. and Laura Jean (Jordan) Deem.
Debby retired in January 2019 from the Garrett County Health Department after working 30 years as a home health aide.
Debby is survived by her husband, John Edward Filsinger; a step-son, Levi Filsinger; step-daughters, Jennifer Resh and Becky Flaherty; step-grandsons, Riley Upole, Gunner Resh and Sterling Resh; a step-granddaughter, Emma Flaherty; three brothers, Carroll Deem, Jr., Tom Deem and David Deem; one sister, Patricia Knell; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Deem; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dogs, Buddy, Rex and Ricky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Deem.
Debby's request for cremation will be honored and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
Debby loved helping people, so in honor of Debby, please do something nice for someone else.
