Debra Brown

Debra Ellen "Debbie" Brown, 68, of Gormania, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on May 19, 1955, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Gordon Aronhalt, Jr. and Elizabeth Elsie (Otto) Aronhalt.

She was a 1973 graduate of Southern High School. Debbie had worked as a teller for Miners & Merchants Bank in Bayard, WV, and Chimney Corners Restaurant and Candyland, both in Oakland. By far, her favorite job was taking care of her family and their home. She was a faithful member of the Bayard Church of God, where she was a member of the Ladies Group for which she served as treasurer for a period of time. Debbie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She had a strong faith in God and an unwavering dedication to her family and her church. Debbie had a giving soul, was kind-hearted, and had a smile for anyone she met.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Duane Brown; her daughter, Jennifer Susanne Harsh and husband Mark; granddaughter, Michelle Rose Simpson and husband Tyler; grandson, Tyler Jacob Harsh and fiancee Gracy Howdershelt; great grandson, Ryder Lee Simpson; and a brother, Ronald Eugene Aronhalt and wife Patty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Lee Brown, and a brother, Donald G. Aronhalt Sr.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 11 AM with Pastor Joey Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Bayard Cemetery.
