David Wilson

August 4, 1947 — February 21, 2012

David Andrew Wilson of Swanton, MD, was embraced by the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at his home.

Born August 4, 1947 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Thomas Edward & Amy Jane (Friend) Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary Louise (Teets) Wilson; three daughters-Ada Colleen Wilson "Addy" & husband Christopher Wade Norman, Powder Springs, GA; Johanna Dawn Wilson "Joni", Swanton and Holly Gwynn Berry & husband Craig Ross Berry, Dayton, VA; two grandsons, Wilson Wade Norman "Wade" and Kenneth David Augustus Norman "Gus"; one brother, Floyd Delmar Wilson & wife Shirley Ann Wilson, Gainesville, FL and sister-in-law, Crystal Lynn Teets, Mechanicsville, VA; two nieces, Melissa Joy Wilson and Megan Noelle Teets; two nephews, Joshua Charles Teets and Matthew Robert Teets and one aunt, Helen Friend.

David served in the US Air Force and Vietnam Conflict as a jet mechanic. He worked part-time at the Swanton US Post Office for 10 years. He was an employee of New Page, formerly Westvaco, for 43 years as a digester operator. David was a most loving, giving and selfless husband, father, grandfather and friend, always putting others ahead of himself. He was a faithful member of the Swanton Otterbein United Methodist Church and the Restless Ridge Hunting Club.

Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St, Oakland, MD, Thursday, February 23, 2012, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Swanton Otterbein United Methodist Church with the Rev. Angie Cosner and Pastor Ross Glotfelty officiating. There will be an additional viewing one hour prior to the funeral service.

Interment will be in the George Cemetery in Swanton.
