David James Walker, 74, of Aurora, WV passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home in Oakland. Born on May 2, 1941 in Berea, Ohio, he was the son of the late Roy Bishop and Stella M. (Brigham) Walker. He was a machine operator having retired from Globe Pipe Hanger in Cleveland, OH. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Grafton, OH where he served as a Deacon and was very active in many church activities and boards. In addition to spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. He had a love for gardening, particularly after retiring to West Virginia, and was a successful potato grower. He will be remembered for loving life, being joyful, and telling jokes. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kathren M. (Sines) Walker; a brother, Robert Walker and wife Joann of Lima, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Walker. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, November 23rd from 5 to 8 PM and at the Oak Park Church of the Brethren on Tuesday, November 24th from 1 to 2 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Carl Fike officiating. Interment will follow in the Taylor-Sines Cemetery.
