David Copeland

David Randolph Copeland, 62, formerly of Petersburg and Franklin, WV, died on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home.  Born on January 29, 1955 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Evelyn M. (Puffenbarger) Copeland.  David attended The Guild while living in Petersburg.  He had a knack for working puzzles from the center piece outward, coloring in coloring books and listening to Johnny Cash.  His favorite superhero was Spiderman and he loved Santa and the Christmas holiday season.  David enjoyed spending time with his family and attending family reunions.  He had quite a sweet tooth, especially for candy bars.  David is survived by his brothers, C.E. Copeland of Jonesville, VA, Bobby Copeland of Elk Garden and Doug Copeland of  Oakland,who was also David's caregiver, guardian and best friend; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by five siblings, Polly and Bill Copeland, Doris Evans, Betty and John Copeland.  A graveside memorial service will be held at the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 3:00 PM.  A special thanks to the caregivers and friends at Rest Care Group Home in Franklin for the compassion and love shown to David during his time there.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cindy's Fund, PO Box 182, Oakland, MD, 21550.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland.
