Darrell Wotring, Jr

Darrell Malcolm Wotring, Jr., 75, of Oakland, died on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Western Maryland Health System.  Born on May 26, 1941 in Corinth, WV, he was the son of the late Darrell M. and Martha V. (Hill) Wotring.  Darrell was a graduate of Southern High School, Class of 1960.  He worked as a construction laborer for the Laborers Local Union #616 in Cumberland and was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God.   Darrell was a practical joker who had a great sense of humor.   He loved to spend time fishing with his son Phillip by his side.  He was a good, hard working man and provider for his family.  Darrell is survived by his bride of 54 years, Ethyl Fay (Whitacre) Wotring; an aunt, Margaret Sanders of Oakland and numerous cousins.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Phillip R. Wotring in March 2017; and a brother, Ronald Wotring.  Friends will be received at the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P. A, 21 N 2nd Street, Oakland, on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 4-7:00 PM and again on Friday, May 5, from 10-11:00 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastors Ivan Ackerman and Chad Reese officiating.  Interment will be in the Deer Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Appalachian Crossroads, 39 S 3rd Street, Oakland, MD 21550.  Condolences for the family may be left at www.csfredlockfh.com.
