Darlene Moon

Darlene Faye Moon, 75, of Oakland went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Garrett Memorial Hospital. Born on August 4, 1937 in Red Oak, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Nelda M. (Cooper) Strawser, Sr. She was Pentecostal by faith and a graduate of the Southern High School Class of 1955. She is survived by three children, Kathaleen Skipper and husband John of Oakland, Teresa Domenick and husband Mark of Mt. Lake Park and C. Manuel Moon and wife Jennifer of Deer Park; six grandchildren, Laura and Rachel Skipper, Natalie and Ryan Domenick, Lauryn and William Moon; three sisters, Naomi Wolf of Oakland, Flora Coddington of Mt. Airy, MD, and Sharon Webster of Jupiter, FL; one brother, Charles "Pete" Strawser of Ridgeley, WV; and her father-in-law, Harry Edwards, Jr. of Oakland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Harry J. Edwards, III in 1964 and C. Loyd Moon in 1993; and a grandson, Nicholas Loyd Moon in 2001. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Monday, March 11th from 11AM to 12 noon at which time a funeral service will be held in the funeral home with Rev. Sam Moore and Rev. John C. Skipper officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
