Daniel Ray Paugh, 70, of Kitzmiller went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, surrounded by his family at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born on July 23, 1947, in Vindex, he was son of the late Edward “Ted” and Wilma Frances (Kent) Paugh. Daniel was a devoted member of his church, the Kitzmiller Assembly of God, where he served as board member and treasurer for many years. He was a strong supporter of the Kitzmiller community in numerous ways, such as serving as a member of the Kitzmiller Lions Club, a former town councilmember, and a faithful attendee of the Kitzmiller Hot Meals. He enjoyed many activities including gardening, sports, and local history, but above all, he was dedicated to God and his family, especially relishing time with his buddy Tavery. Daniel is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Diane E. (Fletcher) Paugh, who he married on June 13, 1971; two sons, Mark A. Paugh and wife Heather of Bonaire, GA, and Matthew A. Paugh and wife Melissa of Kitzmiller; a daughter, Kara E. Lyons and husband Michael of Elk Garden, WV; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Abbie, Ashley, Jace, Madaline, Rylee, Sydney, and Tavery; four sisters, Rosalee Evans and husband Jim, Shirley Sharpless, Joann Gregg and husband Larry, and Suzie Fike and husband Carl; and a brother, David Paugh and wife Diane. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by an infant son, Ryan Andrew Paugh, and a brother-in-law, Gary Sharpless. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St, Kitzmiller, on Friday, June 15, from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 16, at 1 p.m. at the Kitzmiller Assembly of God Church, 291 W Main Street, Kitzmiller, with Rev. Matthew Paugh and Rev. Lee Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, WV.
