Daniel K. Heilig, 62, of Moorefield, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his residence. Born on March 17, 1956 in Washington, D.C. he was the son of Gerard A. Heilig and the late Constance (Hurley) Raper and was an honorably discharged veteran from the United States Marine Corps. Daniel was a carpenter by trade. He had a very friendly demeanor and never met a stranger. Daniel is survived by his father, Gerard A. Heilig and step-mother Marilou; a brother, Robert E. Heilig; a sister, Colleen Marr; a step-sister, Kathy Pierce, two step-brothers, John and Ed Lewis; and his companion, Brenda Yost. In accordance with Daniel’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10 AM with Pastor Carl Fike officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps, Proctor-Kildow American Legion Post #71 and the Deer Park VFW Post #10077.  Condolences for the family may be left at www.csfredockfh.com.
