Dalton Wolfe

Dalton "Wayne" Wolfe, 99, of Oakland died on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, just six weeks short of his 100th birthday, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home. Born on January 19, 1914 in Lake Ford, MD, he was the son of the late Isaac Clayton and Elma Ann (Maust) Wolfe. He was an electrical design engineer for R. E. Uptegraff in Terra Alta, WV and had also worked as an electrician in the construction industry. Wayne was considered a "jack of all trades" who worked on the farm and liked to fix televisions. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica. He had been a member of the Lake Ford United Methodist Church for over 75 years and had taught Sunday School for 70 years. He is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Anderson of Blaine, VA; sons, John W. Wolfe of Terra Alta, WV and Robert W. Wolfe of Cranesville, WV; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Florence Ruth (Wilson) Wolfe, in 2008; two grandsons, Christopher and David Anderson; a granddaughter, Shari Anderson; a sister, Evelyn Wolfe; and two brothers, Walter and William White. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, December 6th from 6 to 8 PM and on Saturday, December 7th from 10 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Ernest Metheny officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake Ford Cemetery.
