Dale Copeland

Dale Allen Copeland, 71, of Oakland died Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his home. He was born July 29, 1940 in Anderson, IN, the son of the late Charles L. and Thelma M. (Horan) Copeland.

Dale's career was in computer research and development and he retired as president of James Martin Government Consulting. He was in the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Copeland; one daughter, Victoria Rollins Wennermark and husband Scott, of Fairfax, VA; one son, Daniel Allen Copeland and wife Janice, of Stephen's City, VA; stepson, Larry Richard Westholm and wife Leigh of Jacksonville, FL; stepdaughter, Leigh Westholm Green and husband Jason, of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Emily Burke, Cameron Copeland, Zachary Copeland, Rachael Wennermark, Chloe Green, Sophia Green, and Kate Westholm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Jerry Wingett. He deeply loved them all and was loved and cherished in return.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 12 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 126 E. Liberty Street, Oakland, MD with Rev. Chip Lee officiating. Private family inurnment will follow.
