Daisy May (Sliger) Graham, 101, of Oakland went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Oakland Nursing & Rehab Center.
Daisy was born January 1, 1910 in Durbin, WV.
She is the daughter of the late Wilbert and Mary Ellen (Armstrong) Sliger. Daisy was a member of the Underwood Church and also attended Gortner Union Church. She taught Sunday School and was a member of Underwood Ladies Aide.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Thomas H. Graham; granddaughter - Diana Graham; sister - Thelma Clarke; brother - Robert Sliger; stepmother - Rebecca Sliger, half-sister - Vida Sliger, and two half-brothers - Ervin and Jacob Sliger.
She is survived by three sons and their wives - Howard and wife Nellie of Frederick, MD, D. Thomas and wife Minnie of Jefferson, MD, and Clifford and wife Patricia of Oakland; three half-sisters - Effie Wotring, Judy Shaffer, and Jenny Holtschneider; ten grandchildren - Clifford II and wife Donna, John and wife Karen, Tamra and husband Jeff, Susan and husband Jim, Debra and husband Scott, Doug and wife Christine, Doris and husband Mike, Kerrie and husband Ryan, D. Thomas wife Debra, and Renee Graham; 16 great grandchildren; and 7 great, great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A. 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Donald Matthews and Rev. Steve Sauder officiating.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Garrett County P.O. Box 271 Oakland, MD 21550.
