Cornell Knotts

Cornell Elizabeth Knotts, 83, of Sugarlands, WV went to her heavenly home on July 2, 2014.

She was born December 6, 1930 in Thomas, WV a daughter of the late Fuller and Naomi Elizabeth Griffith Gooding. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Knotts in 2007. Also preceding her in death were 1 son, Donald E. Knotts, 4 brothers, Fuller, Ernest, Harry and Joe Gooding, 1 sister, Martha Gibson, 3 grandsons, Donald E. Knotts, Jr., Curtis A. Knotts & John J. Evans. Survivors include 2 sons, Robert (Jeannie) Knotts, Staunton, VA, Timothy Knotts, Sugarlands, WV, 2 daughters, Elizabeth (Jack) Evans, Knoxville, TN, Geraldine (David) Auvil Haywood, WV, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.Cornell enjoyed all aspects of farm life and gardening. She has won numerous blue ribbons for her baking and canning goods at various county fairs. Her others passions were embroidery and crocheting. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and was always involved in Church activities.Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis, WV on Saturday July 5,2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Sunday July 6, 2014 2:00 PM at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Lantz and Father Timothy Grassi officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
