Connie Carpenter

Connie Lynn Carpenter, 66, of Oakland, MD, passed away at home on Sunday, April 3, 2022. Born on August 14, 1955, in Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of Christine (McKee) Mellinger of Oakland and the late Calvin Mellinger.

Connie was a teacher's assistant at Southern Middle School for 41 years.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Wayne Carpenter; son, Alex Mellinger of Oakland; daughters, Randi Carpenter and husband Beau Piper of Oakland, and Mandi Lee of Confluence, PA; grandchildren, Fox Carpenter-Piper and Max Carpenter-Piper; sisters, Kathy Tressler of Florida and Anna Stemple of Oakland; and sister-in-law, Sandra Kay Carpenter of Pittsburgh, PA.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Guy.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St, Oakland on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM and on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 9 to 11 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Matthew Paugh officiating.
