Christine Fischetti

Christine Fischetti, 89 of Oakland, MD, passed away, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Oakland Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born January 25, 1922 in Caretta, WV, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Trudie (Largen) Milgrim. Also, preceded in death by husband-Pasquale "Pat" Fischetti.
Christine was a veteran serving with the United States Navy, Aviation Machinist Mate Second Class in WWII ; she was one of the first women in the state of Virginia to enlist in the WAVES. After serving her country, Christine attended the Pratt Institute of Art and Engineering. Upon graduating, she then worked on 5th Avenue for Ceil Chapman Design Studio and then became a homemaker.
Surviving are: daughters-Lenora Fischetti and Anita Fischetti, both of Oakland, MD and Teresa Spissak, Springfield, VA; brother-Elwood Milgrim, Wytheville, VA; sisters-Violet Romanowsky, Newport Beach, CA and Marjorie Riggins, Greensboro, NC; grandchildren-four and great-grandchildren-four.
Family and friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd Street, Oakland, MD, Friday, March 25, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bobby Holcomb officiating.

Inurnment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
