Cheryl Sue Shaffer, 70, beloved Mother and loving Wife, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 7, 1949 to Carroll "Bill" and Genevieve (Reams) Hahn.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Dennis C. Shaffer; three children, Renee Klier and husband Steve, Wendy Scalise and husband Greg, Deni Lynn Lewis and husband Bob; six grandchildren, Alyssa Thierer, Presley Cunningham and husband Tyler, Coleton Stein, Trenton Lewis, Landon Lewis; a step grandson, Grant Scalise. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by a step grandson, Gavin Scalise.
Cheryl was an avid walker and enjoyed her quick trips to Atlantic City with her friends. She loved to play bingo on Sundays and loved showing off her skills in bowling. Until her health condition made it impossible, she was a dedicated employee at Naylor's Hardware for almost 40 years. Cheryl was so loyal and faithful to Naylors, for it was her home away from home. She was a wonderful cook and loved nothing more than preparing meals for her family and friends. She took great pride in all that she accomplished, as it was all for her family. Cheryl had many great talents, which she has passed onto her daughters and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Although they all lived away, it didn't stop her from attending school or sport functions with them. She was always there for them. Cheryl's smile never left her face and would light up a room! She was always so cheerful and vibrant. She was an amazing role model as was the perfect housewife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. She will be missed beyond measure.
