Charlotte Mae Gross, of Oakland, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 surrounded by her family at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on March 16, 1936 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Arthur and Cora (Reed) Tanner. Charlotte graduated from Smethport High School and was salutatorian of her class. She worked as an office clerk for American Olean Tile Company in Olean, NY. Charlotte was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Shinglehouse, PA, and she attended Loch Lynn Church of God. She was an avid reader, loved doing puzzle books, needlepoint and embroidery. She enjoyed spending time outdoors with her family. Charlotte is survived by her children, Diana Sharpless and husband Glenn of Oakland, Clair Elliott of NC, Lyle Elliott and wife Elaine of GA; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Sandy Baker and Carol Schreckengost; numerous nieces and nephews; and several special foster grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Gross; a son, Bryan “Mark” Elliott; a grandson, Bryan Sharpless; three brothers and one sister. Friends will be received at the Loch Lynn Church of God on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 10-12 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Cindy Ackerman officiating. Interment is private. The family would like to thank the staff of Oakland Nursing and Rehab and Garrett Regional Medical Center for the wonderful care shown to Charlotte. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Loch Lynn Church of God Children’s Ministry. The C & S Fredlock Funeral Home is honored to the serving the Gross family at this time.
