Charlotte Marie (Angle) Downey, 84, of Westernport went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 10th, 2016, with her family at her side and with the comfort of the staff at Moran Manor Nursing Home. Born on October 23, 1931 in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late William and Adele Angle. A life-long resident of Westernport, she was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Church in Westernport, practicing the Catholic Faith she dearly loved. She volunteered several years at St. Peter's school as a cook and was well known for her "sloppy joes." Her cooking skills in the making of "fudge, cakes & brownies" were known well throughout the Tri-Towns area. She also enjoyed membership in the Cumberland Moose and El Fidel Club. She was a sweet, kind person who always had a smile to share and saw the good in others. Charlotte loved music, a good classic movie and dancing. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, using stationery to keep in touch with loved ones, puzzle books, journaling and fine dining. She is survived by her son Fred and wife Dawn Downey of Harvey De Grace, daughter Cheryl Hill of Barton and son Brett and wife Casey of LaVale; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her sister Jean Devlin of Cumberland; and, as well, she had a special relationship with her grandson Hunter Downey and his mother Beth Downey of Cresaptown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Fred V. Downey and brothers, Bobby and Bill Angle. The family would like to thank the following: WMHS, the Nurses and Staff at Moran Manor in Westernport, Rev. Gary Morris, friends, Patsy Kenealy, Margie Freeman and John Amoroso, Both Divine Mercy & Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic parishes of Western MD, especially Fr. Eric, Fr. Ed, Fr.
