Charles Sharpless

Charles L. "Butch" Sharpless, 68, formerly of Vindex passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on January 4, 1945 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Charles and Sara (White) Sharpless. He was a special member of his family who was loved and cherished by all including his caregivers at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Butch will be remembered fondly and missed by all who knew him. He is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Parks and husband Elwood and Sue Shirko and husband Charlie, all of Swanton; a niece, Amy Helbig of Baltimore; three nephews, Eric and Keith Parks and Christopher Shirko, all of Swanton; three great nieces; and two great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Sharpless. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, September 20th from 10 AM to 12 Noon after which a private family interment service will be held in Sharpless Cemetery, Swanton with Pastor Matthew Paugh officiating.
