Charles Johnston

He was born September 10, 1923 in Davis, WV a son of the late Mortimer and Artie Thompson Johnston of Canaan Valley. He was married to the former Beatrice Pennington Johnston and they had celebrated 66 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters; Reva and (Joe) Harman of Canaan Valley, Nettie Johnston of Canaan Valley and Faith and (John) Mininger of Hickory, NC.  Also surviving are four grandchildren; Chad Harman, Heather (Harman) Brown, Lynne (Mininger) Bledsoe and Aaron Mininger, one great-grandchild, Wesley Harman. One niece and five nephews also survive. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by his brother, Willard Johnston.

Everett graduated from Davis High School in 1941. Shortly after graduation, he began working as a carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #604 since 1948.  Also he operated Johnston's TV Service in Canaan Valley for many years.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Tuesday, January 15, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM the funeral hour. The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate. Interment will follow in the Buena Cemetery in Canaan Valley.
