Charles Allan Cosner, 79, of Davis, West Virginia passed away at his home on August 8, 2019 after battling cancer. He was born March 24, 1940 in Albert, West Virginia, a son of the late William Henry and Ella May Roberts Cosner.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Shoemaker Cosner, whom he married on February 19, 1975. He is also survived by his son, Allen Charles Cosner of Davis, West Virginia and his "grandpuppy", Coco, who could always be seen riding around with Charlie.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul William, Robert Wayne, Grover, Patsy Don and Albert Dorsey, and three sisters, Elizabeth Jane, Alta Mae, and Barbara Ann.
Charlie served in the United States Army. He served on the Davis Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years. He worked for Blackwater State Park for over 25 years. He worked for Hinkle Funeral Home and was a right hand man to Bucky, Scott, and Jordan for over 40 years. He took great pride in always being available for the fire department and funeral home. Charlie was known for being able to fix anything and everything.
Friends will be received at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home Saturday, August 10, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Sunday, August 11, from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday August 11, at Hinkle-Fenner Chapel with Rev. John Callaway officiating. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery with Fireman and Military Honors.
