Cecil Tasker

Cecil Dwight "Gravy" Tasker, Sr., 68, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, doing something he always loved to do, hunting with his grandkids at the family cabin. Born April 1, 1948 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Russell and Wilda (Cooper) Tasker. He was a member of Kurtz Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elsie (Sweitzer) Tasker; four children, Kim Likins and husband Joe, Cecil Tasker, Jr. and wife Robin, both of Oakland, Mike Tasker and wife Mandy of Camden, NC and Angie Thomas and husband Willie of Oakland; ten grandchildren, Scott Livengood and wife Kaylee, Derek Tasker and girlfriend Shelby, Jay Likins, Lindsey Livengood, Tisha and Cody Thomas, Morgan, Emilee, Dakota and Jarrett Tasker; two brothers, Roger Tasker and Donald Tasker, both of Oakland; two sisters, Betty Sweitzer and Barb Sweitzer, both of Oakland; a special niece, Jill Martin; and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Webster, Richard, Leon, Charles "Yogi", Kenny, and Allen "Blow" Tasker; and a sister, Juanita Knotts. Friends will be received at the Old Loch Lynn Church of God, First St., Loch Lynn on Saturday, December 3rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the church on Sunday, December 4th at 2 PM with Pastor Barbara Rexroad and Pastor Donald Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Tasker Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 43, Oakland, MD 21550 or the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad, PO Box 378, Oakland, MD 21550.
