Cecil Artennis Jackson, 93, Of Oakland, MD, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home.
Born November 12, 1917, in Kempton, MD, he was the son of the late Charles and Rose F.(Gouer) Jackson. Cecil was also preceded in death by his wife, Johanna Jackson, brothers, James, Robert and Woodrow Jackson and sister, Goldie Beckman.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Cecil was a line monitor with Columbia Gas Company, owner and operator LaPetit CafAC. in Loch Lynn, a ginseng expert, avid bottle collector and a long time attendee of the Faith Evangelical Free Church.
Surviving are: sons, Tom Jackson and wife, Barbara, Albright, WV, Gary Jackson and wife Carol, Grand Island, NY, grandchildren, Mark, Sherry, Karen Rose, Bob & Adam Jackson and numerous great grandchildren..
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland, MD, Thursday, November 18, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Faith Evangelical Free Church, 1009 Maryland Highway, Mt. Lake Park, MD with the Rev. Jeff Kroll officiating.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
