Bonnie Tutor

Bonnie Marie Tutor, 80, of Oakland, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at her home. Born on May 5, 1942, in Dairy Hill, WV, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Audrey (Workman) Legg.

Bonnie moved to Tupelo, MS, where she met the love of her life, George. She was a factory worker at the same plant where George was the manager. They were married on October 1, 1990. After they retired, they spent many hours sitting on their front porch swing, sharing stories and laughing together. In July 2016, they moved to Oakland to be close to Bonnie's son Steve and family. George passed away on October 12, 2020; they had been happily married for 30 years. Bonnie was a cat lover and had many over the years. Her latest rescue cat was "Chris", whom she loved dearly. She also adored her grandson, Michael, and his three children. She enjoyed their time together and she was excited to see what favorite food he had made to bring her. Her step-granddaughter, Laney visited often. She loved seeing her and watching her play with her cat Chris. Bonnie also loved the time she spent with her good friend Peggy Davidson. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Bonnie is survived by son, Jeff "Steve" Davis and wife Sheila Martin Davis, of Oakland; grandson, Michael Davis and wife, Larissa of Oakland; step-granddaughter, Sarah Beckman and husband Casey; great grandchildren, Evan Davis, Caleb Davis, Madilyn Davis; a step-great granddaughter, Lainey Beckman, all of Oakland; and brother, John Legg; and sister, Nancy Flanagan.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, George Tutor; brothers, Donald and Bobby Legg; and sister, Sue Rowe.

Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd Street, Oakland on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 10 to 11 AM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 AM with Pastor Mark Weeks officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
