Bobbie Huffman "Slim" Harvey, 83, of Oakland died on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital. Born on September 23, 1930 in Kempton, he was the son of the late Charles and Pearl (Martin) Harvey. He was a bus driver for 20 years and worked for Ralph Pritts and Sons. He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Bowser) Harvey; children, Charles Harvey and wife Joan, Paul Harvey and wife Amy and Debbie Beckman; grandchildren, Stacey Jeffries, Robert Beckman, Brison Harvey, Sara Harvey, Jaiden Harvey and Regan Harvey; great grandchildren, Logan, Dalton and Branson Jeffries; son in law, Dan Beckman; brothers and sisters, Jessie and Ray Swadley, Ruthie and Leroy Divel, Roger and Frances Harvey, Charlotte and Craig Sauder, Martin and Dracella Harvey, Arcie and Fannie Harvey, Bill and Pearl Harvey, Janie and Glen Smith, Wilma Leach and Naomi Sipos; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Harvey; a sister, Linda Silver; and a brother, Freddie Wayne Harvey. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, September 6th from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, September 7th at 10 AM with Pastor Jeff Kroll officiating. Interment will follow in the Walnut Bottom Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Faith Evangelical Free Church Mission Fund, 1009 Maryland Hwy., Mt. Lake Park, MD 21550.
