Beulah Ruth Black, 88, of Harman, WV passed away April 3, 2017 at Colonial Place in Elkins, WV. She was born October 25, 1928 in Macksville, WV a daughter of the late Jacob Edward and Bessie Alice Smith Painter. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Worth Black, one daughter, Renita McIntyre, and one brother, Estyl Painter. She is survived by one son, Dolan (Kathy) Black, Harman, WV, four grandchildren, Casey (Tammy) Black, Mandy (Frank) Hartz, Nicholas (Randi) Smith, and Anthony, (Deanna) Smith, seven great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Black graduated Harman High School in 1947. She worked for Canaan Valley State park for many years, working as a cashier and hostess, later being promoted to supervisor. She enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, playing the organ and guitar, and helping the Dry Fork ladies with their local ramp dinners.
Friends will be received, Friday, April 7, from 6-8 PM at the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be held, 11:00 AM, April 8, at the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church with Rev. Grey Hinkle officiating. Interment will follow in the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Petersburg, WV. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
