Betty Paugh

Betty Rae (Evans) Paugh, 89, of Oakland died on Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on July 23, 1926 in Kitzmiller, she was the daughter of the late Riley Elsworth and Ethel Bell (Stewart) Evans. She was employed by the former C & P Martins and had attended the Deer Park United Methodist Church. In addition to spending time with her family, Betty loved to cook. She will be remembered for her wonderful bread and homemade noodles, just to name a few. She is survived by three children, David William Paugh, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Oakland, Vickie Rice and husband Ed of Fayetteville, NC and Barbara Jean Perando and husband Ron of Oakland; six grandchildren, Jason Paugh, Julie McDowall, Brian Rice, Josh Perando, Sheri Hershman and Michael Paugh; eleven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Janet Monogold and Colleen Whitacre, both of Akron, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David William Paugh, Sr., in 2012; a daughter, Judy Ann Paugh; a grandson, Matthew Paugh; a brother, Bill Evans; and a sister, Sherry Whitacre. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Wednesday, May 11th from 4 to 7 PM and on Thursday, May 12th from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Barbara Rexroad and Pastor Sam Moore officiating. According to her wishes, Mrs. Paugh will be cremated and her ashes will be interred in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Deer Park United Methodist Church, 81 Church St., Deer Park, MD 21550 or the Southern Rescue Squad, PO Box 378, Oakland, MD 21550.
