Betty Jo Madigan, 85, of Deer Park, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on July 9, 1931 in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late Carroll F. and Nellie (Rhodes) McRobie. Betty attended Oakland High School. She was a retired bookkeeper for Englander's Pharmacy. She previously owned and operated the Country Loft Antique Shop. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, going to auctions and flea markets and collecting and restoring antiques. She was an avid history buff especially anything relating to the civil war. Betty leaves behind two daughters, Shirley Foglepole of Deer Park and Sue Smith and husband Richard of Oakland; three grandchildren, Zane Kisner and Elonda Ball, both of Deer Park, and Callista Guess and husband Scott of Gallatin, TN; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; three brothers, Richard McRobie of South Carolina, Orville McRobie and wife Nancy of Waterloo, IA, Robert McRobie and wife Rose of Deer Park; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Kevin Callis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha L. Madigan; a sister, Evelyn Clary; and a brother, Eugene McRobie. Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 11-1:00 PM at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., in Oakland. At her request, Betty's body will be cremated and laid to rest with her daughter, Marsha. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to the Deer Park Fire Volunteer Department, PO Box 3152, Deer Park, MD 21550 or to the Garrett County Historical Society, 107 S 2nd St., Oakland, MD 21550.
