Betty Liller

Betty Lou Liller, 82, of Oakland passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Born on January 9, 1933 in Sunnyside, Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late George and Maxine (DeWitt) Sanders. She was a graduate of Oakland High School and had been a secretary at Southern High School for 33 years and, during her time there, she was known as "Mom" to many students. Betty was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She also enjoyed reading, cooking for her family, crossword puzzles and sitting poolside at her daughter's pool. Betty was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a doting grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by three children, Lu-Jean Bosley and husband Dave, Kevin Liller and wife Sue, and Steve Liller, all of Oakland; grandchildren, Nicole Bosley and Ashley Kitzmiller, Justin Liller and wife Kristen, Ashley Liller Carnell, and Jennifer Bosley Allsup and husband Paul; great grandchildren, Taylor Kitzmiller, Keegan Liller, Reagan Liller and Baby Allsup; a brother, Joseph Sanders and wife Jean; and a special cousin, Marsha Deem and husband Carroll. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband to whom she was married for 44 years, Lloyd Gene Liller, in 1996. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland on Monday, February 2nd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Oakland on Tuesday, February 3rd at 11 AM with Pastor Carl Fike officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 318 E. Oak St., Oakland, MD 21550, Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland MD 21550 or the Ruth Enlow Library, 6 N 2nd St., Oakland, MD 21550.
