Betty Lucille Bello, 100, passed away on March, 13, 2025, at the Goodwill Retirement Community, in Grantsville, MD. Born on March 9, 1925, in Tunnelton, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Harrison and Phoebe Ellen (Shannon) Wiles.
Betty was a proud graduate of Aurora High School, where she laid the foundation for a life of dedication and service. She was a devoted homemaker who also made her mark professionally as an Order Fulfillment Clerk with the US Government Printing Office, where her attention to detail and commitment shone through. Betty had a passion for nurturing both her family and her surroundings-she found joy in cooking delicious meals and tending to her garden, creating beauty in every season. In her quieter moments, she loved to lose herself in a good book or challenge her mind with puzzles, always embracing life's simple pleasures with grace and enthusiasm. Betty's warmth, creativity, and quiet strength will be cherished by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Michael W. Bello and wife Sandra, of Oakland, Paul Bello and wife Nancy, of Buena Vista, VA, and Christopher Bello, of Sykesville; grandchildren, Domenic Bello and wife Amy, Vincent Bello, Anthony Bello, Eddie Bello, Michelle Bello, John C. Bello and wife Alba, Christina M. Schmidt, Paul A. Bello Jr. and wife Heather, Stephen M. Bello and wife Christy, Melissa Ferrell and husband Chris, Anna Mair and husband Travis, Timothy Bello and wife Sara; 26 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Paul C. Wiles, of New Creek, WV; a sister in law, Wanda Jean Wiles; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Aloysius M. Bello; her son, Aloysius M. Bello Jr.; siblings, Susan Denson, Robert E. Wiles, John Wiles, Rudell Sheehan, Thelma Stemple, Wanda Bruno; and daughters in law, Mary Bello and Christi Bello; and brothers and sisters in law, Rose Wiles, Bobby Denson, Edna Wiles, Fred Stemple, and John Bruno.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2 PM in the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, with Rev. Dr. Chip Lee officiating.
