Betty Barrick

Betty Jean (Bray) Barrick, 84, of Oakland, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on October 28, 1940, in Vindex, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Nellie (Knox) Bray.

Betty was a 1959 graduate of Southern High School. She attended the Presbyterian Church in Kitzmiller. She worked as a payroll clerk for the Garrett County Roads Department. She will also be remembered as a devoted homemaker who enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ember James "Jim" Barrick, Jr.; her brothers, Ronald Bray and wife Louise of Kitzmiller, Garry Bray and wife Becky of Bloomington, Carl Bray of Oakland, and Donnie Bray of Oakland; her sister, Marcia Moore and husband Jim of Mtn. Lake Park; nieces and nephews, Connie, Cheryl, Ronnie, Arin, Amanda, Kristin, and Blake; a special great-niece, Ella Rae; and numerous other great nieces and a great nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel Dwight Bray and Roscoe Wayne Bray, a sister, Linda Bray, and a nephew Daniel Bray Jr.

Friends will be received at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM with Pastor Carl Fike officiating. Interment will follow in the Sharpless Cemetery, Mt. Zion Road, Swanton.

Memorial donations in Betty's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
