Bertha J. Shiflett, 92 of Bayard, WV died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Cortland Acres Nursing Home.
Born April 7, 1918 in Randolph County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Essley A. and Edith (Collins) Robey. She was also preceded in death by her husband John D. Shiflett; sons, Eugene, Edgar & Dale; daughters, Ramona & Rosa Lee; brothers, Vernon Dale & Darrell; sisters, Vada, Laura & Pearl.
Surviving are one son, Donald Shiflett of Bayard, WV; one daughter, Iantha L. Slayman of Oklahoma; one brother, Charles Robey of Elkins, WV, one sister Norma Varner of Beverly, WV; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second St., Oakland, MD on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Bayard Cemetery, with the Rev. William McCallister officiating.
