Beatrice Colaw

Beatrice Helena "Lena" Colaw, 95, of Loch Lynn died on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at her home. Born on October 20, 1918 in Terra Alta, WV, she was the daughter of the late Dwight and Marguerite (Campbell) Ashby. She was a faithful member of the Loch Lynn Church of God and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lena valued God and her family above all else. She is survived by her sons, Don Ray "Toby" Colaw and good friend Lillian Wertz, Ernest Dwight "Sonny" Colaw and Michael Kevin "Mike" Colaw and wife Linda, all of Loch Lynn; grandchildren, Tim and Todd Colaw of Petersburg, WV, Rob Colaw and wife Courtney of St. Clairsville, OH, Susan Chapman and husband Mickey of Oakland, Cody and Kevin Colaw of Loch Lynn; great grandchildren, Zachary, Austin and Alex Smith, Sydney, Aliyah and Kylee Chapman, Stephanie Harman and Tyler and Evan Colaw; a great great grandson, Austin Harman; a brother, James V. Ashby of Crellin; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Don Ray Colaw, in 2001; a daughter, Sheila Marguerite Colaw; and two sisters, Betty Mina and Marie Sweitzer. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, September 19th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, September 20th at 11 AM with Pastor Cindy Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
