Barbara Riley

Barbara Ellen Riley, 81, of Loch Lynn died on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at her home. Born on July 7, 1935 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Gloria (Wilhelm) Riley. Prior to retirement, Barbara had been self-employed and had, earlier, worked as an operator for C & P Telephone Company. For many years, she was a volunteer for Garrett County Memorial Hospital and helped to care for the elderly in their homes. In addition to spending time with her family, Barbara enjoyed gardening, quilting, travel and caring for horses. She is survived by four sons, Michael Beachy and wife Tracy of Oakland, Larry Beachy and wife Bette of Westminster, Gary Beachy and wife Kelly of Swanton and Mark Beachy of Frederick; grandchildren, Jason Beachy and wife Jennifer, Marcie Nelson and husband Derrick, Andrea Goodman and husband Mike, Laura Beachy, Weston Beachy, Brian Rayburn and wife Tiffany, David Beachy and wife Amber, Daniel Beachy, Garrett Beachy and Ethan Beachy; great grandchildren, LeAnn and Lacey Beachy, Devin, Kayla, Ryan and Aliyah Amburgey, Lillian Goodman, Trenton Switzer and Jackson Beachy; three sisters, Kay Schell and husband Harlon of Savannah, GA, Beverly Brenneman and husband Bill of Bloomington, and Dottie Beckman and husband Bennie of Swanton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Carnes. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Thursday, August 11th from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, August 12th at 2 PM with Pastor Ivan Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
