Barbara Holtschneider

Barbara Ellen Holtschneider, 61, of Oakland, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 14, 2019 surrounded by her loving family after a long battle fighting cancer.  Born on May 14, 1958, she was the daughter of Carl E. Holtschneider and the late Delores J. (Sines) Holtschneider.  Barb was a graduate of Southern High School, class of 1976.  She then went to Allegheny College of Maryland and graduated with a BSN in nursing.  She worked as a registered nurse for many different nursing homes in the Oakland area.  She was very passionate for her patients and treated them all like family.  Barb was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Her grandkids were her life.   Barb loved to play cards and board games, reading, watching her shows and loved her dogs, Tanner and Cooper and kitty, Boots.  She was a member of River of Life Church in Terra Alta, WV.  In addition to her father,  Barb is survived by two sons and a daughter, David L. Hardesty, Jr. and wife Jamie of Hagerstown; a daughter, Kristina L. Sanders and husband Jason of Terra Alta, WV; and a son, Jason B. Hardesty and girlfriend Ashley Statton of Oakland; two sisters, Nancy Lewis and Carol Sine; a brother, Gary Holtschneider and wife Charlotte; seven grandsons, Jacob and Jared Hardesty of Hagerstown, MD, Breckin, Braige, Ryken and Rowan Hardesty and Tyson Staton of Oakland;  two granddaughters, Rhylinn Sanders of Terra Alta and Tayah Friend of Oakland, MD. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 11 AM with Pastors Angel and Chad Reese officiating. Interment will be held in Deer Park Cemetery. The family would like thank the friends, family and the community for their love and support during her fight with cancer.  A special thanks to Barb's caretakers, her sister, Nancy and a best friend, Regina.  Memorial contributions can be made in Barbara's memory to Cindy's Fund, PO Box 182, Oakland, MD 21550 or to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
