Barbara Fike

Barbara A. Fike, 70, of Aurora, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Cortland Acres in Thomas, WV. Born on October 4, 1948, in Kingwood, she was the daughter of the late Harold H. and Annie Elizabeth (O’Haver) Shaffer. She was a nurse’s aide at both Dennett Road Manor and Garrett County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren and the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and playing Bunco, Yahtzee and all kinds of card games. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids and taking care of her family. She is survived by her husband of over fifty-two years, Phillip Fike; a daughter, Tammy E. Lewis and husband Brent of Red House; a son, Scott Bowman and wife Valerie of Gerrardstown, WV; grandchildren, Dustin Lewis, Kody Lewis, Ethan Bowman and Destiny Bowman; a great grandchild, Rylee Lewis; two brothers, Robert Shaffer and Bennie Shaffer; a sister, Mickie Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Lonnie Shaffer and a sister, Ellen Easter. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
