Arveta Savage

Arveta Marie (Bell) Savage, 74, of Oakland died on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at her home. Born on September 11, 1938 in Terra Alta, WV, she was the daughter of the late Fred Allen and Mable Marie (Calhoun) Bell. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Oakland and the Auxiliary of the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad. In addition to spending time with her family, Arveta enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking and reading. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Savage; her children, Kevin Lee Savage and wife Renee, Kayla Ann Cathell and husband Carl Jr. and Gregory Scott Savage and wife Penny, all of Oakland and M. Christine Savage of Cranberry, PA; grandchildren, Brian Mitchell Cathell and wife Caroline, Andrea Renee Stephens and husband Justin, Daniel Barrett Cathell and wife Desiree, Zachary Scott Savage and wife Mandy and Mathew Thomas Savage; great grandchildren, Taylor Renee Stephens, Jacob Michael Stephens, Noah Scott Savage, Colton Mitchell Cathell and Elias Matthew Stephens; two brothers, Fred Allen Bell, Jr. and wife Joyce of Bradenton, FL and Terry Allen Bell and wife Darla of Tampa, FL; and a sister, Linda Kay Little of Keyser, WV. Friends will be received in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Oakland on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 10 to 11 AM at which time a memorial service will be held with Rev. R. Samuel Wachter officiating. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550 or Cindy's Fund, PO Box 182, Oakland, MD 21550. The Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, Oakland has been entrusted with the arrangements.
