Arlie Hauser

Arlie "Gene" Hauser, 78, of Red House, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Oakland Nursing & Rehab Center of Oakland.

Gene was born May 30, 1933 in Red House, the son of the late John David and Vernie Pricilla (Gnegy) Hauser. He was retired carpenter and farmer. Gene was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Red House, also a member of Appalachian Bee Keepers' Association and Farmers Wildlife Club. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith Lorraine (Dignan) Hauser; a daughter, Lisa Marie Skipper and husband Frank of Swanton; five grandchildren, Daniel Nathan Skipper, Kerri Paige Skipper both of Terra Alta, WV, Rachel Lauren Skipper of Frostburg, Jordan Thomas Skipper and Kelsey James Skipper both of Swanton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Skipper; a sister, Maxine Maude Smith; and three brothers, Elmer, Harry and Edgar Lee Hauser.

Friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the DAVID A. BURDOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St. Oakland.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church of Red House, 3301 Garrett Hwy, Oakland, MD with Rev. Regina Beard officiating.

Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the following; St. John's Lutheran Church of Red House, Southern or Northern Rescue Squads, or Farmers Wildlife Club in Horse Shoe Run, WV.
