Arlena Dilley

Arlena Ann Dilley, 94, of Oakland died on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Dennett Road Manor. Born on October 31, 1924, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Arlie Granville and Ethel Savillah (Tusing) Shrout. Arlena had been a cook for the former Oak Street School, Broadford Elementary School and for the Terra Alta Stock Yard; she had also cleaned cabins at Herrington Manor State Park. She was a lifetime member of the Underwood Church of the Brethren. In addition to spending time with her family, Arlena enjoyed painting ceramics, reading book and tending to her flower garden. She is survived by her children, Gloria Roth and husband Cecil, Petersburg, WV, Aleta Knotts Friend and husband Donnie, Glenna Miller and husband Ralph, Ronald Dilley and wife Kitty, and Eugene Dilley and wife Judy, all of Oakland; grandchildren, Jerry Roth and wife Gigi, Mark Roth and wife Laura, Jeff Roth and wife Kim, Aaron Roth, Loriann Ludwig and husband Robbie, Monica Rinker and husband Kenny, Ty Preston Miller and wife Sharon, Bridget Corbin and husband Kevin, Jason Dilley, Nicole Butina, Steve Dilley and wife Val, and Beth Miller and husband Chip; 26 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Ludvigsen of Oakland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Delmar Charles Dilley; her stepfather, James Bill Tasker; six sisters, Mary Shrout, Baby Shrout, Ruth Twigg, Elsie Nair, Carrie Lohr and Dorothy Lohr; three brothers, Robert Tasker, Carlton Tasker and Norman Shrout; and a son in law, Terry Knotts. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, September 8th from 1 to 4 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, September 9th at 11 AM with Pastor Michael Mudge officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Ty Miller, Jason Dilley, Mark Roth, Jeff Roth, Ralph Miller and Kenny Rinker. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Arlena may be made to the Ruth Enlow Library, 6 N 2nd St., Oakland, MD 21550.
