Arizona Fannie Lawrence, 93, of Dry Fork, WV passed away May 2, 2012 at Cortland Acres in Thomas, WV.
She was born April 13, 1919 in Dry Fork a daughter of the late James and Malinda Carr Wolford. In 1936 she married Alva Joy Lawrence who preceded her in death in 2001. Also preceding her in death were 7 brothers, 7 sisters and 1 son. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include 3 sons; Perley L. Lawrence and companion Gladys Mundays, Jamie L. (Barbara) Lawrence, both of Dry Fork, WV and Virgil L. (Ruth Ellen) Lawrence, Rawlings, MD, 2 daughters; Hilda (Charles) Smith, Loganville, PA and Norma (George G.) Trent, Morristown, TN and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Arizona worked as a housewife who very much enjoyed cooking, especially biscuits and breads. She had a deep love for her family and she was a lifelong member of the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church. Friends will be received on Friday May 4, 2012 at the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 5 at 11:00 AM at the Church with Rev. Ric Lewellen and Rev. John Callaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonner Mtn. Cemetery.
